It's an initiative led by Invest in Azores and Portugal Ventures.
The Venture Capital Fund started its activity with approximately 1,1M€ of initial capital. It aims at investment projects developed by Micro, Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs), in the Azores, in multiple activity sectors, that constitute a clear business opportunity.
Up to 200,000€, per company, are available for investments in shareholdings, which tend to be minority.
Capital investments are carried out, together with the promoters, for a temporary period from 3 to 10 years, depending on the state of development of the projects. This period precedes the disinvestment phase and the sale of the shareholdings.
The terms of participation are negotiated and vary according to the characteristics of each project.
